The people at Special Events bring us another excellent Pro Wrestling match under their line of "Grude Matches" called Royal Ruffian. This time they've paired up Brandi Alexander vs the slightly smaller Pippa L'Vinn from Manchester England for this contest. Both are indeed accomplished wrestlers and this is going to be a good best 2 out of 3 falls event.
Brandi is the first to show while stretching in the corner sporting a dark one peice outfit and wearing her standard long leather boots.. These look marvelous on her! Then over to Pippa who shows up in a pink one peice outfit. Introductions are made, ref checks out the gals and instructs them on the rules. Circling each other in the ring Pippa is quick to force Brandi to the ropes. The ref demands the break and gets it cleanly. Brandi takes Pippa in an over head arm lock and quickly drops her to the mat where Pippa gets a 2 count against her. A quick grab of the ropes cause the release of the hold. This starts off so far as a good classic pro wrestling match. Good holds, tosses and moves. Then slowly it breaks down to a rough match where Pippa starts to work over Brandi's legs with kicks and knee drops to the back of her thighs to weaken them before putting Brandi's bruised legs into a fabulous figure four leg lock.. the screams!!
Pippa has quite a few variations of the classic holds. She puts Brandi in a standing figure four leg lock before dropping to the mat with the top leg cross over. I don't know what hurts the most but suffice to say better her than me! Pippa leads most of the first match by working on Brandi's legs when ever she gets the chance. But Brandi's experience comes to the forefront as she's able to get out of some of the holds after working all the angles to break it. back and forth the first match see-saws with well executed holds and moves. Brandi manages a turn around as she slaps on a reverse craddle on Pippa, causing her to scream her bloody head off. Crossing her legs behind Pippa, Brandi applies a punishing arm pull on the english lass. Amazingly, Pippa is able to work her way out of it until she's up on her feet and drives Brandi into the corner. Once again with the advantage, Pippa has Brandi in a secure sitting full nelson, trying to rip her shoulders out and squeezing her with vise like body scissors. Everytime Brandi looks like she's going to find an out, Pippa crushes her harder between her powerfull thighs. A couple of keister bounces adds the insult to the injury. Brandi manages to break out of it and takes the advantage from Pippa. After a lot of rough hits and rough housing, Brandi secures the first fall with a body slam and a pin for the win.
Round two starts off with the classic elbow and collar lock up and Brandi is quickly overpowered and forced to the ropes once again. A quick break demanded by the ref. Both combattants find themselves in the corner of the ring and steady up for a classic Test of Strength contest. Locking fingers and going shoulder to shoulder, Pippa takes the advantage from Brandi and applies several holds and a toss before locking her up in a chicken wing arm lock which is eventualy broken out of. Brandi starts to punish Pippa's legs now. A heavy ham string pull and leg stomps weaken the english girl's legs. Brandi is relentless in her assault on Pippa's legs. Feeling the worst for wear, Pippa is swung into a classic Bosten Crab. Screaming in pain, Pippa refuse to give. Working her way back to her feet, Pippa manges to get the advantage and starts to work on Brandi's arm. When the ref isn't looking, Pippa turns to biting her opponent.
With Brandi on her back, Pippa holds her legs up and apart and then drops to her knees to deliver and brutal and illegal head butt to Brandi's crotch. This takes a punishing toll on the already weakened Brandi. Pippa grabs Brandi and rolls her over in a Bosten Crab. Rolling out of this one Brandi is pissed off and takes to choking Pippa. Eventualy, Brandi gets Pippa in a bone snapping arm lock, soliciting screams from her victim. Pippa sneaks in a hair pull to distract Brandi and the ref and manages to slap on a neck scissors in her turn. Back and forth the battle rages. Pippa manages to snap on an interesting hold on Brandi.. scissoring her arms behind her back with one foot on Brandi's face is enough to make the experienced wrestling howl in pain.. but still she refuses to give. Pippa then slams her opponent into a camel clutch. But experience counts as Brandi is able to break out of it.. Quickly Pippa manages to control Brandi and punishes her with wrist locks and arm locks. Eventualy, Pippa manages to put the figure four leg lock on Brandi and makes her submit as Pippa cranks onthe pressure. I don't know what it is but Brandi looks great in that hold while wearing her long lether boots. Pippa adds a special touch to the hold with a back arch that simply cranks on more pressure to her victims brutaly assaulted legs.
The match is one fall each, and into the third and deciding match. Of course you know this is where I am going to leave you off with the blow by blow description. What I can tell you though, is that this match gets a hell of a lot more brutal as both women fight to win the match. Pippa brings a lot of new twists to old classic holds. She's got a mouth on her too that matches her mean ol' bitch mood in the ring. She's as brutal as they come as she tears Brandi apart with devastating leg holds. Brandi, of course, brings a lot of experience to this match and makes it all look splendid.
There is no T & A in this match. I know a lot of people want to see that (I do also) but as you know, I am a classic pro wrestling fan to heart and I love what Special Events and LadySports.com are doing with these matches.
I'd like to make a special note about Brandi if I may. I obsolutely love watching her as the victim in these type of matches. It takes a lot of skill to make these type of matches. A lot of work. But when you can combine that wrestling skill with the ability to make it look like you're in such impossible pain, you have a winning combination. Some of the women in the business must think that when fans request they be the victim it's meant to be an insult.. Nothing could be further from the truth. It's a compiment as it acknowledges their skills and abilities. On the same breath, the same can be said for the favourite heel. Some carry it well, others don't. Either way, when you see skill and talent in the ring, you appreciate it! I know I do!
I can easily rate this match for an 8 star rating. I would have loved to have seen some back breakers. ( but hey, that's me =) If you are a pro-female wrestling fan looking for a tape with excellent leg hold, and other classics with a twist at times, this one's for you!
